One person,
all the way down.
Kuhlman.Co is a one-person software studio in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Idea to App Store, design to deploy, backend to support inbox — built by one set of hands, on purpose.
The story
I started Kuhlman.Co because I wanted to make small, sharp software the way the best small studios used to — one person who designs, builds, ships, and supports the thing they made, without anyone in between.
Three apps are out the door today: Weather.Co for general aviation pilots, Dispach for freelancers running their business, and tmpo, a daily-use health app in pre-TestFlight. A few more — on the running log — are taxi-ing for takeoff.
Beyond the studio's own products, I take on a small number of outside builds a year. iOS apps, web platforms, AI integrations, Cloudflare-native services. Always end-to-end, always with my name on it.
Why one person
Fewer hands means more coherence — at the cost of going slower in stretches. I take the trade. Design knows the code, code knows the deploy, the support inbox knows the roadmap. Nothing falls in the gaps between specialists because there are no gaps.
It also means I can be honest about scope, honest about timelines, and honest about the things I don't do. No sales team telling you yes when the answer is no.
What I won't do
Where I'm based
Cape Girardeau, Missouri — home base KCGI. Most of the work ships from a small office near the airport. Travel rarely, async-first with clients, weekly drops when we're flying together.
Get in touch
Pre-flight conversations are always free. Send the rough shape of the idea and we'll figure out from there.
