The biggest in-flight upgrade since 1.0. Auto-record detects takeoff from accelerometer + airspeed and starts logging the GPS track without you touching anything. The cockpit surface reads like the panel: PFD artificial horizon, altitude/airspeed/VSI tape gauges, HSI with live wind vectors, turn coordinator + slip/skid ball, Zulu clock, persistent in-flight banner.

Stackable on the same map as live storm reports (hail size, wind gust, tornado probability) and optional cloud-to-ground lightning. Sounding + wind-hodograph profiles per location.

AI pre-flight briefings + 10 Siri Shortcuts.

Pre-flight briefings are now AI-summarized — plain-English call-outs of the hazards along the route. Ten Siri Shortcuts ship: Check Weather, Check Flight Category, Get METAR, Get Winds, Storm Risk, Go/No-Go, Weather Briefing, Favorites Weather, Forecast Summary, Flight Timer. Spoken responses tuned for cockpit headsets.

Route deconfliction live in the planning hub. TFR overlays from tfr.faa.gov, SUA airspace from FAA, AIR SIGMET + GFA boundaries. Anything restricted along your path lights up before you launch.

Pilot profile · logbook, currency, personal minimums.

The long-term layer beneath every flight. Logbook auto-totals by category (VFR/IFR/night/cross-country). Currency tracker watches 60/90-day landing + approach requirements. Personal-minimums editor + background scanner that pings you when a favorite airport or planned route dips below your minimums. IMSAFE self-assessment integrated into Go/No-Go. Per-aircraft pre-flight checklist runner.

Standing promise: Weather.Co is free for CFIs and flight schools, forever. Roster-onboarding flow at /cfi. As of 2026-06-22, this is upstream of the new "free for every pilot" rule — the CFI program continues unchanged.
