Tell it how you're camping and it builds the trip around that. An AI guide called Ranger runs on your iPhone and knows your plans. Your trips sync through your own iCloud. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.

Ready for the conditions at camp
- Live conditions: weather, air quality, UV and fire danger, plus storm alerts from the National Weather Service sent in the background.
- Drive time and fuel, sunrise and sunset, the moon, and a stargazing outlook.
- The sky at camp: when the ISS and bright satellites pass over, and the chance of an aurora.
- Water nearby: river gauges near camp and along your route, with a warning when a crossing is in flood.
- An offline map of every campsite, saved for when you lose signal.
Record the hike and get back safely
- A GPS hike tracker that records route, distance, elevation gain and a profile, with a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and a glance on your Watch.
- Terrain for US routes from the USGS 3DEP elevation survey: the total climb, the steepest grade and a hillshade map.
- Turnaround time. The daylight card tells you when to head back so you're out before dark.
- Emergency card with your coordinates when offline, your location shared in a tap, and the nearest ranger station or hospital.
- Waypoints for camp, water, a river crossing or a viewpoint.

Ranger, on your device
Ranger runs on Apple's on-device model. It knows your list, forecast, meals and route, and it can write the itinerary and meal plan for you. It's free, private, and works where there's no signal.
Private by design
Trips sync between your own devices through your private iCloud. No account to make, no ads, no tracking. Weather and map data come from public sources without keys.
Day and night
Soft sage by day and deep forest at night. Choose Day, Night or iPhone, or Sun, which switches at sunset and sunrise where you're camped.
Beyond the phone
A home-screen widget you can check items off on, a Live Activity for the hike, Siri and Shortcuts, Spotlight, and an Apple Watch app for packing and the hike.
