Your trips are yours. Outpost.Co is built to keep it that way.

What the app stores: your trips, packing lists, meals, photos, recorded hikes, waypoints, and journal notes live on your device, and sync across your own devices through your private iCloud (CloudKit) account whenever you're signed into iCloud. That storage is private to your Apple ID — I can never see it. Not signed into iCloud? Everything simply stays on the device.

Location: with your permission, the app uses your location for trip weather, maps, drive estimates, hike tracking, and nearest-help search. While you're recording a hike, tracking keeps running with the screen off so your route isn't lost — it stops when you end the hike. Your coordinates (never your identity) are sent to map and weather providers only to return those results; recorded routes are saved with your trip data, not sent to me.

What leaves your device: beyond those coordinate lookups, nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers. The Ranger assistant runs entirely on-device using Apple's on-device models — your questions and trip context are never sent to me or any third party. During the TestFlight beta, Apple's standard TestFlight plumbing may share crash reports and any feedback you choose to submit, under Apple's own terms.

Accounts: there are none. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to delete later.
